URL Patterns

An HTTP URL has this format: http://host:port/path?args

Foxy URL patterns deal only with the host and path parts (future releases may handle arguments).

Rules:

• If there's no slashes, a name is interpreted as domain part, e.g. site.com means http://site.com/.
• The first slash delimits domain part from path part.
• Domain part matches the specified domain, and all its subdomains, e.g. site.com also matches www.site.com, images.site.com, etc.
• Path part matches all path names starting with that path, e.g. /dir matches /dir/file, /dir/dir2/file, etc.
• Both domain and path parts may contain asterisks (“*”) which match zero or more characters, e.g. dog*, matches dog, dogs, doggerel.
• Empty domain part matched any domain, empty path part mathes any path.
• Both domain and path part are case-insensitive.
